It sanitizes SVG markup, states when AVIF or BMP depends on the browser, opens supported pages from a bounded classic TIFF in document order, and reads the embedded flattened composite from compatible Photoshop PSD files.

Before you download

  • JPG has no transparency, so transparent pixels are filled white.
  • GIF animation is not preserved; this route converts the browser-decoded first frame.
  • TIFF pages are flattened into separate 8-bit sharing copies; the page structure and archival, print, ICC or geospatial metadata remain only in the original TIFF.
  • Editable layers, masks, text, effects, plates, spot channels, color profiles and Photoshop metadata are not reproduced from the PSD. CMYK and Lab become bounded screen approximations, not color-critical proofs. The JPG contains only supported embedded composite pixels; keep the original PSD.
  • SVG scripts, event handlers, linked resources and active markup are removed before rendering.

Why is the output fixed to JPG?

This route is for a direct to-JPG job. Use the flexible converter when you want to compare JPG, PNG and WebP outputs.

Can I convert several images together?

Yes. Every accepted source in the current batch receives the same JPG quality setting.

Which compressed TIFF files can become JPG?

Supported classic stripped, chunky 8-bit grayscale, RGB, declared-alpha RGBA or palette pages can use None, PackBits, LZW, Deflate or old Deflate compression; horizontal differencing is supported only with LZW or Deflate. Each page is limited to 8,192 pixels per side, 12 megapixels and 256 strips; opening every supported page is limited to 16 pages and 16 megapixels combined. Each file is limited to 25 MB and TIFF sources in the batch to 150 MB. Every page must meet the same subset. BigTIFF, tiled, separate-plane, other-orientation, JPEG and CCITT TIFF are not supported.

Will a PSD become an editable JPG?

No. JPG has no editable Photoshop layers. PixHandy reads only the embedded flattened composite from supported PSD version 1 files: 8- or 16-bit RGB, grayscale, exactly four-channel CMYK or exactly three-channel Lab, or 8-bit indexed, with Raw, RLE or ZIP compression and 8-bit ZIP prediction. The result is an ordinary 8-bit flat sharing copy. CMYK and Lab are bounded screen approximations, not color-critical proofs; layers, plates, spot channels, palette identity and color profiles are not reproduced. PSB, 32-bit, duotone and multichannel files are not supported.
