Resize: what changes
Resizing changes displayed dimensions. Set a width, a height, both dimensions or a percentage from 1% to 400%, then review every planned output. GIF is resized frame by frame; passive self-contained SVG keeps vector markup and receives new viewport dimensions.

Before you download
- With Maintain aspect ratio on, two dimensions form a maximum box rather than forcing every output to the same shape.
- With Maintain aspect ratio off, both dimensions are required and the result may look distorted.
- Downsizing removes pixel detail, while enlargement adds pixels without recovering missing source detail.
- GIF has a limited palette and one-bit transparency, so resized gradients and transparent edges can change slightly during GIF encoding.
- SVG <style> blocks and style attributes are removed together with scripts, animation, embedded images, links and external resources; use presentation attributes such as fill or stroke for the supported self-contained subset.

Why is one output dimension smaller than my fit setting?
The other dimension reached its maximum first, so PixHandy preserved the image’s proportions.
Can I enter only a width or height?
Yes. Keep Maintain aspect ratio on and PixHandy derives the missing dimension independently for every image.
Can I resize above 100%?
Yes, if you turn off Do not enlarge and the planned outputs stay inside the safety limits. Ordinary resizing cannot recover missing detail.
Will resizing flatten an animated GIF?
No. PixHandy resizes every decoded frame and preserves the source delays, frame order and loop setting in the GIF output.
Does resizing turn SVG into pixels?
No. A supported SVG remains SVG; PixHandy preserves or establishes its vector coordinate system and changes the planned viewport width and height.
