Key decisions
What is the difference between inside and outer panels?
Inside places layers over source pixels. Outer panels add measured canvas space above, below or around the source and change the final dimensions.
How are layers applied to an animated GIF?
The same visible composition is rendered onto every decoded frame while the source order, timing and loop behavior remain.

Know the limits
- Outer panels increase final dimensions, and unsafe geometry is rejected without discarding the last valid composition.
- All layers are flattened into the exported image or animation and are not separately editable in that file.
- GIF palette and transparency constraints can alter colors and soft edges.
